Who's Who in the Wedding Party

Friends and family members often are in your wedding party. Their duties consist of the following:

Maid or Matron of Honor
Helps bride run errands, relays information to and organizes other attendants
Attends all parties and showers
Helps bride dress for ceremony and honeymoon
Arranges bride's train, veil, and bustle
Holds groom's ring and bride's bouquet during ceremony
Toasts at rehearsal dinner or reception

Bridesmaids
Generally help bride or bride's family with errands or problems
Attend all parties and showers, if possible
Point out family members and special friends to photographer at reception
Help keep small children in procession under control
Help both families collect and transport flower arrangements, gifts, and possessions from ceremony and reception sites.

Best man
Arranges bachelor party
Helps groom dress for ceremony
Organizes groom's attendants and ushers
Holds bride's ring during ceremony
Makes first toast
Helps groom confirm honeymoon plans and leave for honeymoon
Returns groom's wedding outfit (if rented) day after wedding

Groomsmen and Ushers

Escort guest to seats
Help with any problems with parking and seating at ceremony
Decorate the vehicle that the couple leaves in
